Standard Tongue Piercings are usually 14G. Some people may get a 12G. Most body jewelry is sold for 14G for tongue rings. You can get longer or shorted tongue rings for the same size piecs IF both balls on the tongue ring are removeable. Some people also strecth their tongue ring to the lower 12G, 10G, 8G and sometimes 6G. The standard length of a tongue ring is 5/8" Some people do prefer a shorter tongue ring on 1/2". We have pieces available mostly in 5.8" however do have some 1/2" pieces available. If you prefer the shorter tongue bar, the 1/2" post is what you may be looking for. A lot of women and people with smaller mouths prefer the shorter bar.

For most pieces, length is always adjustible, as long as both ends of the piece come off the post. You will need to get a post which is the same gauge as the jewelry piece you have or want to modify. For example a 16G Ball with a charm can not go on a 14G post UNLESS it specifically states the threading is a 16G.
